The Ten on Ten project:
“This project has grown to be a fun and interactive way for blogger’s from all around the globe to document a snap shot of their lives, once a month on the tenth, taking a photo an hour for ten consecutive hours. Finding much life and beauty amongst the ordinary things of our day!”
My highschool friend and fellow blogger, Sarah told me about this a few months ago, and she is going to try it as well. Her friend, Keely participates: http://keelysteger.blogspot.com/2011/03/ten-on-ten.html I was interested, but just kept forgetting to do it or it fell wrong on the calendar. FINALLY, here we are on the 10th and I am giving it a go.
I have my camera in my hand A LOT, but 10 straight hours?
Way harder than I thought. I did awful! I kept getting busy and realizing a couple of hours had passed me by unaccounted for.
Oh well, can’t say I didn’t try! On we go with ten-on-ten…..
First pic: morning chores. Making beds, doing dishwasher etc….as you can see I got one photo of this before I had to set the camera down and run from kid to kid; dressing, changing, sheet tucking, hiney wiping, helping with the dishwasher, you know, the usual! 😛
Next up: Brushing teeth while trashing the formerly clean mirrors, getting dressed…..
Oh, and keeping Paxton from playing in the bathroom.
Chores are done, now it’s play time!
And time to keep Paxton out of the bathroom…….over and over and over again.
{What is it about that toilet that seems so fun to him? Gross!}
Ty thinks it’s hysterical that Pax clacks his sticks together while playing the drums like a real drummer.
Already Lunch time (too busy to take a photo) then nap time! We were down by 12:30 today on the dot…..
Aahhh, peace and quiet!
Time for this momma to get some stuff done! Coupon clipping and supper prep are first on the To Do list, followed by bread making. Fingers crossed it turns out, I have no buns for tonights Hawaiian BBQ Pulled Chicken Sandwiches otherwise!!!!!
{sigh} Look at my lonely lawn chair out there. I desperately want to head out and soak up some Vitamin D……Hurry hurry hurry!
I ALMOST get everything done in time to go sit out front, but just then, who do I hear?
Paxton calling. “Dadadad bababab mommomomom pfffffft.”
Nap time goes by SO quickly!
I go ahead and wake Tylan while I’m in there, so he’ll for sure sleep tonight. He was NOT pleased.
Avery was still sleeping when it was time to go get Destiny from school. The good news? Daddy was just done fishing and was headed home, he’d swing by and get her for me.
Poor poor sun-burned daddy. Can you tell he was wearing waders?
Snack time, then homework and play! We miss big sis when she’s at school!
I think Mr. Monkey Butt deserves a photo or 2….
Before I know it, it’s supper time!
{By the way, I made my best rolls EVER today. SUPER EXCITING! Yeast and I have a love-hate relationship, but tonight? The perfect fluffy huge rolls I wanted for our sandwiches. YAY! 🙂 Wonder if it had something to do with that fact that it was over 100* today and we are trying not to turn on the AC until J-U-N-E, so my house was the perfect temperature for good bread rising!!!!!!}
Clean up supper dishes, oops, forgot the camera again. Everyone hurried, Daddy has a surprise for the kids after they got their jammies on…..
Fire Crackers!
The String pop kind. The kids were nervous but excited!
Bed time prayers and a song in the girl’s room…..then lights out for everyone.
Sweet dreams, my lovies!
Goodnight my sweet baby! I adore how heavy and limp they go when they’ve hit the “full button”.
Sometimes I feel like my life is straight from the movie “Groundhog Day”! Good thing I love what I do so much, because we basically do the same tasks each day over and over and over again!! 🙂
So, what’s my goal for next Ten-on-Ten Day?
10 photos, 10 hours in a row, no words. I’ll get this figured out sooner or later!
Happy Ten-on-Ten Blog Day!
~T
I love reading your posts. I think you did a great job. Not easy to balance all of that! But you captured how a “real” day goes perfectly. And your rolls turned out amazingly well. That pasta salad looks good too! ;o)
Brandie! I’ve missed you! 🙂 Yay for big fluffy rolls!!!! I had to do half wheat and half white flour, I wonder if that was the trick? Anyhow, have a good one, thanks for taking the time to write and as always, encouraging me and making me smile. ~T 🙂
This ten for ten on ten sounds great! I think I may try it sometime. Then leave a pingback to you! Must say I laughed out loud a couple times at your longing for the chair, the monkey bum and Dale’s wader burn. Never a dull moment in your house!
I wondered how the hawaiian bbq chick turned out??? I have my crock pot going as we speak so when I get home from work our house will smell wonderful I hope.
I’m new to your blog site and I LOVE it!!
Hi Julie! Welcome to 4 little Fergusons! I love meeting new readers, so thanks for commenting! 🙂 You know what, that recipe turned out pretty darn good! The kids and I really enjoyed it. My hubby? Hmm, not so much, but he is a bit crazy like that. No warm pineapple for him, not even on kabobs. Silly guy! Hope your crock pot supper is deeeelicious! ~Tonya
This was a really neat post. I don’t know if I would remember the camera for that long either & I love to take photos. I still may have to try this…if I do I’ll be sure to post on my site http://thepennywisechick.com
Thanks again for such a cool idea. PS. your bedroom is beautiful! =)
Thank you! The guy at the paint store looked at me like I was nuts, I was like Dude, TRUST me! 🙂 If you do Ten on Ten please link our blogs up! It’ll help both our sites get some extra traffic! 🙂
No way!!!! You made Hawaiian BBQ chicken? I made it last night–SO good! Definitely going in the recipe file!
Oh my~ Great minds do think alike you know! 🙂
I’m glad you got to do it! Looks great. Our 10th of the month was spending 15 hours in the van and I did get a few pictures, but that would have been a boring blog post. 🙂 Maybe next month.
Hi,
I started reading your blog a while ago. It’s really interesting. Your pictures are really pretty.
Wow, I am amazed by your bedroom, it looks so georgous. Anyway, I can only imagine what your days look like.
Thanks, Anne! 🙂 The guy at the paint store thought I was crazy picking out those 2 colors, I told him to TRUST ME! I was really pleased with how it turned out. Come back soon!
