Playing Rapunzel has always been a popular game at our house….. Even more so now that we’ve seen the movie “Tangled”.
For those of you who haven’t been privileged to watch it yet, it’s a darling spin on the Rapunzel story. We loved it! In the movie, Rapunzel battles it out with a “bad guy” several times, using a cast iron skillet.
Guess who has changed the way she plays Rapunzel?
“Ima gonna KNOCK doze bad guys!!!!”
Watch out Tylan, Avery has a skillet and she knows how to use it!
I love it!
All that battling makes me hungry, so on to the Sausage Wontons……………a big thank you to my friend from church, Shanna for sharing the recipe for these tasty morsals with us!
Oh my goodness, you’d never in a million years guess how much flavor is packed in these little cups of goodness. Comes together easily and makes for a beautiful appetizer platter!
Sausage Wontons
Ingredients
- 1 package Wonton Wrappers
- 1 pound ground Sausage, Cooked And Drained
- 1 cup Chopped Black Olives
- 3 cups Colby Jack Cheese Shreds
- ½ cups Chopped Green Pepper
- 1 cup Ranch Dressing
Preparation Instructions
Spray muffin tins and press wonton wrappers into cups. Lightly spray again. Bake at 350* for 6 minutes. While baking, combine cooked, drained sausage, cheese, pepper, olives and Ranch. Remove cups from oven to cookie sheet and divide mixture between them. Bake 5-8 minutes at 350*. Makes 48 wontons.
Enjoy!

Cute idea with the wonton cups. I have never seen that before
I have been wanting to see “Tangled” for ages–people keep raving about it, even friends who are NOT into cartoons/kids’ movies/Disney! You are putting firewood on a BIG fire here, lady!! 😉
The wonton cups look delicious…I don’t have time for much cooking between now and Hawaii (between being on call, a wedding/bachelorette party/etc.), but I’ll have to give them a shot when we get back.
We LOVED them, as in ate 45 of the 48!!!!!! No kidding. {Oink oink}
Hi T!
Cute photos in your recent posts.
Did you use regular “bulk” type italian sausage to make the wontons? Looks delicious and I’m going to make these for sure!
Thanks for sharing,
Julie
Thanks, Julie! I used 1 pound of ground sausage. I will change the recipe note so no one else is confused.
Got this one bookmarked. What an adorable appetizer and so great of baby/bridal showers. I’m always looking for good ideas for those. We loved Tangled too. Such a cute movie and that horse was adorable!
Mmmm, those wontons look fabulous. Maybe I need to check out ‘Tangled’–I’ve heard good things about it. Would you recommend it if it’s just adults watching it? =)
It might be a bit akward at the video store….wait, do people even GO to video stores anymore? YES, I would HIGHLY recommend Tangled, even to an adult only audience. It is super adorable! 🙂 Get out that popcorn kettle……
We watch Tangled at least twice a week at my house!! The Wontons sound awesome!!!! Have you ever frozen part of the mixture to use at a later time? I need an appitizer for this weekend and next weekend and would only need about 20 of them for each, so wondered if I could make the full batch of the mixture and freeze 1/2 of it? THANKS!
I don’t know why not? Especially since you are planning to freshly bake the wonton cups. I hope you LOVE them! 🙂
