I love, love, LOVE to read and want my kids to be good readers too. We promote this by limiting TV time to an hour a day, and requiring quiet reading (or looking at pictures if you can’t read yet) every day during nap time.
I could go on to list 1,001 reason that I love Library Day, but I am pretty sure the photo below says more than I could ever articulate:
Do you hear that?
SILENCE, except for the occasional turned page.
Where is Paxton you ask? Oh making mischief I am sure. Let me go find him…..
“Paxton! What are you doing on the train table?! And why must you destroy the kids Nativity set everyday?”
Guess its time I put down the camera and go read Paxton some books………
I {heart} reading! 🙂

Oh what a wonderful plan – those big pillows make it perfect for them to WANT to lay there and read! I always limited my kid’s tv time too – our daughter, Deb, always had a book in her hand. She taught herself to read in kindergarten and when she entered the first grade, she was reading on a 5th grade level!!! Always a good student too. Reading is sooo important for everything else. GREAT thinking Mom! I so enjoy seeing these kinds of pictures.
This is my dream–if we have kids, I want them to love reading as much as I do! Your pictures give me the warm fuzzies inside. =)
🙂 Start reading from the time they can sit up on and you are a sho-in! How was your weekend wedding?!?!
I want that nativity scene…I could leave it up all year long!
Book reading is one of my favorite things to do, who are your favorite christian writers?
Beverly Lewis, Francine Rivers, Terri Blackstock, Wanda Burnstetter, Karen Kingsbury, Tracie PEterson, Kim Vogel Sawyer, Lori Copeland…the list goes on and on! When I was on bed rest with Paxton for 6 and a half months, I was reading 28 books a month. I got very familiar with our library’s Christian paperback section! LOL 🙂
I guess it’s safe to say you are a VORACIOUS reader huh? That’s soooo awesome!
Hmmm sounds like some of my favorites! KK is a amazing writer as well as Blackstock. Sawyer was great as well, as well as Copeland. I’m not sure about the others. I need to visit the library more often. I have books to return today so maybe I will..
The one thing I find frustrating about the paperback section is how the books seem to be out of order and its hard to find whole series
What a beautiful scene that is of the kiddos laying there relaxing by your beautiful tree and reading…makes me want to go grab a book and my comforter and get with it !
