I hope you guys have a WONDERFUL Christmas and New Years!
I want to share a song with you that moves me to tears and gives me chills every single time I hear it! We originally heard it at our churches Season of Light production. You can see the albums here & here.
So you have to imagine as you listen to this song, the 3 Mary’s all standing on different parts of the stage, singing the song together:
~Mary with newborn baby Jesus, swaddled in her arms
One time he even began to softly cry as she sang to him, it was the most hauntingly beautiful moment! You could hear the crowd gasp and began to cry, too.
~Mary with Jesus as a 12-year-old, arms around each other, she is so thankful she found him in the synagogue, after he went missing
~Mary in black mourning clothes sitting below the cross, her son, our Savior…draped across her lap.
Now, go listen please:
Wow, right?
I am checking out for a bit, time to get caught up on the stack of recipes I want to blog for you, time to be Mommy and play on the floor with my babies, instead of working on the computer. Take time to cuddle on the couch with my Honey, instead of editing photos or writing articles for the paper.
I hope you can use Christmas Break to “check out” from life too. I think it’s so important to do that for ourselves!!! AND for the sake of our loved ones…
This Christmas, I pray that you will take time to see the shocking display of love come down for us this Christmas. Not just the cute little baby in the manger, but the fact that that baby was God. God humbling himself to be the most helpless, dependent thing I can think of, a human child. And in becoming a man and dying accomplishing for us victory over sin a death.
From my friend, Elizabeth’s blog
I could not have said it better myself!!!!!
This Christmas, may we celebrate not by the unwrapping of a pile of gifts that hold no eternal value, not by eating delicious goodies until we can eat no more, but celebrating a Savior who loved us enough to be born to die.
Think about that…….
Sent as a babe to die, only to return as a King, Praise His Holy Name!
Merry Christmas to you and yours from Tonya, Dale & the 4 little Fergusons
