Cooking With Wildtree

Hello everyone! My name is Sonya Caley and I am so honored to be a guest on 4 little Fergusons!

I am blessed to have known Tonya since high school, which was 15 years ago! Man, typing that makes me feel really old. We worked together in the little town of Yoder at Carriage Crossing. She’s always been so sweet and very talented!

I have known Dale for as long as I can remember. We grew up in the same church and school and have been friends since we could walk. I always enjoy reading Tonya’s blog. I am challenged in my faith, my role as a mom and a wife and even my cooking!

I am here today to share with you about an awesome company called Wildtree.

  What is Wildtree?

It is an all natural and 85% organic food company that was founded on the premise that food should be simple, healthy, natural and easy to prepare- all at the same time. Wildtree was started in 1999 by a woman named Leslie Montie.

She had two children that were on dietary restrictions. One of them was allergic to preservatives so opening a box of store bought macaroni and cheese wasn’t an option. She wanted to create meals that were nutritious, delicious, unprocessed and easy to prepare. And she did! So instead of using preservatives, additives, MSG, GMOs, or dyes, Wildtree products are made with the finest natural and organic ingredients available. Some of you are thinking, that if it’s healthy and all natural it probably tastes like a cardboard box.

That’s what so amazing about Wildtree. The food is fantastic! And it is so quick and easy to prepare. I hate that food companies put so many chemicals in our food. I can’t help but think it has something to do with the increase in cancer and illness.

However, I am a busy mom of 2 crazy boys and I don’t have time to make everything from scratch- taco seasoning, spaghetti sauce, salsa and the list goes on and on. That is why I am so in love with Wildtree because I don’t have to worry about what I am feeding my family.

I can use any of their products with complete confidence that they are chemical free. Now, most people assume that since it’s all natural and organic it’s going to be expensive. But that is not the case with Wildtree. It is quite cost effective.

For example, if you buy a packet of taco seasoning at the store it is $0.99 for a packet that serves 4. Our large organic taco seasoning is $15 for 91 servings. This breaks down to only $0.16 a serving! Our products also have significantly less sodium and sugar. Our taco seasoning has 60mg of sodium compared to 185mg sodium in a packet of Old El Paso. So Wildtree is a great option for people with high blood pressure that are on a sodium restricted diet. Wildtree also maintains a peanut-free facility, for those with peanut allergies. We also carry gluten free products such as bread mix, brownie mix, muffin mix, pizza dough mix, and yellow cake mix.

The other super cool thing about Wildtree is we offer freezer workshops. 6edfdb137df8720276c67602f0f9de90  How many times are we scrambling at 5:00 trying to figure out what’s for dinner?

Life is so busy, and as parents are rushing their kids to activities they run out of time to make dinner. So they are either eating cereal, sandwiches or take-out.

At a Wildtree freezer workshop, we get together with our friends and make 10 delicious and healthy meals to have ready to go in our freezers. So all you have to do is cook it. How awesome is that? photo (3)

The cost of the Freezer Workshops is about $3.00 a serving which is cheaper than fast food! Consumer Reports did a study that found if you don’t menu plan, you end up wasting $20 for every $100 you spend on food. So menu planning will save you time and money and make your life easier! These Freezer Workshops are another great way to help Wildtree fulfill their vision of helping people live healthier lives.

And please, stay tuned, Tonya is going to be cooking with some Wildtree products and blogging them for you this week!  Then, I will be back on Thursday to do a big giveaway and tell you more about Wildtree, how to host a tasting, a freezer workshop, or supplement your income.

Thanks so much for being here with us, Sonya!  You guys, I am SOOO excited to share recipes with you!  I am so happy with everything we tried, and can’t wait to tell you more.

See you tomorrow for shopping links, recipe ideas and MORE!

  2. Just found your web page via Tasty Kitchen. I was in Yoder last August and ate at the Carriage House…Peach Crumb Pie was THE BEST! God has already blessed me with your story! How great forgiveness is, for the ones we forgive and for ourselves. 🙂
