10 on 10

Welcome to 10 on 10! Where I take 10 photos {ha!} on the 10th and share them with you on the 11th day of the month.  I only do this when a) I know I will be home a good portion of the day and b) when the 11th doesn’t fall on Weekend.

Here are the instructions:

Take a photo every hour (for ten consecutive hours, if possible) on the tenth of each month. Document a day of your life and find beauty among the ordinary moments. Then share your beauty on the 11th! Please be sure to use the photo below on your blog post, and link back to mine, so we can all share in the fun.

The gal that I originally linked up to, is no longer blogging her 10 on 10’s, so I am a lone ranger. If you ever want to try, follow the instructions above, add in this picture to your blog post, then share in the comments section, so we can all visit you!

Uh, it’s pretty safe to say, that SPRING has left the building as of last night!!  Nothing like going from 74* to freezing over night.10 on 10 2IMG_6115IMG_6125IMG_6129IMG_6148

Good thing we didn’t plant yet!

Nap time projects included, getting Creamy Colorful Ham & Veggie Soup made, packing up some homemade whole wheat rolls and making this Strawberry White Chocolate Lasagna for a family from church with a NEW precious baby boy!
This recipe is coming, I want to tweek it a bit, but its one I made up based on a non strawberry, totally chocolate one I saw go across facebook last week.  It’s photographed, now I just have to type it out and schedule it.

10 on 10 3

I had an appointment after that, so Great Grandma came to babysit.  Here they all are, up from naps and playing “Thief” with her.

My mom brought Destiny home from school. She was struggling to remember all her afternoon chores, so here is the reminder that lives on her locker….

10 on 10 4

By the time I got home from my appt. and supper delivery, the evening just flew, so no pics were taken, Oops!

But here is bedtime….

10 on 10: 5th edition

Welcome to the 5th edition of 10 on 10!

10 on 10 website

Never heard of 10 on 10???

Here is my last one.

Actually, there is an ENTIRE CATEGORY devoted to them.

Here are the instructions:

Take a photo every hour (for ten consecutive hours, if possible) on the tenth of each month. Document a day of your life and find beauty among the ordinary moments. Then share your beauty on the 11th! Please be sure to use the photo above on your blog post, and link back to mine, so we can all share in the fun.

The gal that I originally linked up to, is no longer blogging her 10 on 10’s, so I am a lone ranger. If you ever want to try, follow the instructions above, then just come post your 10 on 10 in the comments, so we can all visit you!

NOW, just so you know, I only post 10 on 10 when both the 10th AND the 11th fall during a regular posting day.  For those that are new to 4 little Ferguson’s, I post M-Th at 7am and Friday at 6am for Weekend Potluck. I take all Weekends OFF to be Mommy! 🙂

Without further adieu, 10 on 10…..

~T

P.S. It doesn’t have to be kept to just 10 photos.  I haven’t done that yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Guess mine should be called 30 on 10?

1) Good morning to my 4 Little’s!  It’s cold outside, so we are having OATMEAL!!!!!

10 on 10 collage 1

2) My facebook status at 7 am.

(Go like 4 little Ferguson’s on facebook for all recipe photos and fun updates!)

For those that can’t read the photo below on their phones it says:

”I can understand losing a lens cap, I’ve had a lot of photo sessions lately.  I can also understand losing a camera battery charger, I have 4 kids, things grow legs and walk away. HOWEVER, I cannot understand how in the world I lost a 5 pound bag of potatoes. Seriously? What in the world!?”

IMG_8472

{SIGH} It’s true. Potatoes were on sale for a dollar last week, so I had my mom grab me two  bags.  I used one right away and distinctly remember talking about putting it in a cool, dark place.  Hmm.  Guess time will smell…..I mean tell.

3) Headed to Preschool, it’s getting COLDER out! 8* now

10 on 10 Collage 2

4) Set out all my holiday baking ingredients thinking I’d get it a bunch of it done while it was just Paxton and I at home.

Nope.  I was too busy doing laundry and looking for my potatoes.

5) Three kiddos are home now, and it’s LUNCH TIME!
Leftover Chicken Pot Pies are on the menu.

Recipe coming sooooon! 🙂

6) I grabbed a couple of the kiddos toy microphones that they had left out and called them all to nap time…announcer style.

Paxton thought it was a GREAT idea, but didn’t quite know how to go about making his voice loud like Mommy’s. Didn’t take him long to realize he needed to place them on his MOUTH, not his EARS.

Silly boy!

10 on 10 Collage 5 txt

7) 1st hour of nap is reading time, 2nd hour is quiet play time while Mommy works.

Todays work load is Season of Light edits for the church, and a stack of recipes to type out on the blog.

8) SUPPER TIME!  Coming to a blog post near you……

Welcome to the 4th Edition of 10 on 10.  Last time I didn’t do so hot, and I hate to say it, but I think I stunk it up pretty bad this time too. It is HARD to remember a photo an hour!!!!!  At least this time I remembered to do it on the right day! 🙂

Here are the Ten on Ten instructions:

Take a photo every hour for ten consecutive hours on the tenth of each month. Document a day of your life and find beauty among the ordinary moments. Then share your beauty with us on the 11th!

I give you, yesterday’s Ten on Ten:

Good  Morning my little Fergusons!

This is the part where we ran out the door for Kindergarten Round up and I didn’t pick up the camera again!  (Sorry guys, I will try to do better next time!)

I was asked to speak tonight about why we chose Christian education, and our families 60 year-long attendance of Central Christian School.  But, how is my big boy going to be in Kindergarten next year?!?! Only two at home with me, and only a few days of that since Avery will do Preschool 3 days a week.

{Sniff-sniff}

Can I just pause life for a bit and enjoy the ride more fully?  This is all going too fast!

Happy 10 on 10!  If you want to join me next month, let me know and we can link our blogs up on the 11th when we share our photos!

Slow down, little ones! You are growing up TOO FAST!

10 on 10: kinda

So, on Friday I was supposed to take my 10 on 10.  New to 4 little Fergusons and don’t know what I am talking about?  You take 10 photos (or WAAAY more if you are me) for 10 straight hours on the 10th of the month, and then post them the next day.

Here is my last 10 on 10:

https://4littlefergusons.wordpress.com/2012/01/11/ten-on-ten/

Anyhow, I usually don’t participate if the 10th and 11th don’t fall during the week, because I don’t post on weekends.  HOWEVER, I promised my friend Cat, from Cat & the Kit Lens, that she and I would do this together on Friday.  And post them today!

{SIGH}

  I am a bad friend.

I forgot to take my 10 on 10 all day Friday.  Blame Mommy Brain, blame that our Friday’s are CRAZY with all the kids at different schools on different schedules, with less than a half hour between dropping off one and picking up another.  Basically, it would’ve been a lot of Tahoe photos.  ANYHOW, about 4:00 in the afternoon, I remembered.  Oops.

So, I give you, 10 on 10 AND 10 on 11, since I took part of Friday and part of Saturday.  That counts, right?!  Sorta?  Maybe a little?

{SIGH}

I’ll do better next time, I promise!  Now go, check out Cat’s 10 on 10!

Hugs, T

Ten on Ten (And Eleven):

I just learned to make these scarves at a fun Woman’s Breakfast I attended on Thursday morning.  I will blog these for you sometime, hopefully soon, they are sooo fun to make!!!!  I wore this one Friday.

043

Destiny’s best friend recently moved to a new school.  😦 I think Destiny cried every day for a week!  She got to come over after school for a Playdate, how fun!

073

Supper is served:

049

After supper, a SPECIAL Ice Cream Sundae party for 2 reasons:

065

1) HELLO! We had a special guest over.  🙂

0102) Avery FINALLY didn’t scream and cry at school and I PROMISED her, if she could walk calmly to her classroom and say bye to me with no tears…she’d be greatly rewarded and Ice Cream is a special treat!

I told you she was my Firecracker child!  All of a sudden she doesn’t want to leave my side, it is the latest case of separation anxiety we’ve ever experienced in this home!  I am talking about like, her teacher pulls her from my arms as she shrieks and grabs at my clothes……But, as soon as I leave the room…….the Angel Avery comes back and the tears stop instantly.  Stinker.  (She does this at church too)

We made a BIG deal over how well she did this week! YAY, Avery!

Destiny’s Ice cream Sundae:

072

Daddy’s a big softy, so even Paxton got some vanilla ice cream. Spoiled Rotten I tell you, none of the others kids would’ve dared been given more than a bite of Ice Cream, let alone their OWN BOWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

078  I love his face in this first photo, he wasn’t too sure what he thought about that cold stuff at first, I think the second photo makes it pretty clear he approves!

074075

After supper, the girls and I worked on making BFF Scarves so that whenever they wore them t0 school, they could remember each other.  So sweet!

068

They worked so hard!

081082087

I was sad we didn’t get done before it was dark out, so I could get a decent non-orange picture of them wearing their scarves.  Oh well, next time!  They were really really cute!

090

At this point, I put the camera down and didn’t pick it up again until Saturday morning:

First on the Saturday morning agenda, reading time with Daddy:

003

Brrr! It’s freezing outside!

016

Gotta get the fire goin’….

028

After an hour, it’s finally getting warmer in the house.

007

The kids read by the fire while Dale and I make our traditional big Saturday morning breakfast!

008021

Buttered cubed toast, then scrambled eggs & Sausage Gravy, I didn’t believe Dale that this would be good all together. I am a separate biscuits and gravy on one side of my plate, and scrambled eggs on the other kinda gal.

NOT ANYMORE!!! YUM

012

I had some crescents to use, so I stuffed them with 1 T. of bagel cream cheese and 1 T. of that Triple Berry Ice Cream topping leftover from last night. It’s basically a berry jelly, and you could do the same using jelly anytime! They were tasty!   We bribed the kids that they had to eat their WHOLE healthy breakfast before they could have a stuffed crescent roll.  Dale doesn’t like sweets, but he loved them the best by far.  Funny, right?!

015

Next, the kids set up a Zoo for Dale and I to come visit:

“Attention, attention, the Zoo is now open!”

024

Destiny won’t win any prizes for handwriting, but I thought it was adorable that she made Tickets for us to come to the Zoo.  I only needed ONE ticket, because it was buy one, get one free day, and Paxton was still young enough that he was free too!    SCORE!

037038

They had some great new animals:

017018031030022

They even had TWO kittens!

032033034

After this we got busy doing chores, but I did take one more photo during nap time.

Another scarf I just finished making, told you these are fun to make!  🙂

036

The End!

Ok, bonus photo:  this one was taken last night, but I HAD to share!  We have added another little Ferguson to our family:

Ten on Ten

I’ve been wanting to do a Ten on Ten post every month since I started this blog a year ago, and sadly…..I’ve only accomplished it TWICE!

10 on 10: First attempt

10 on 10: 2nd attempt

After that, I promptly forgot all about it!

Now some months, I did remember, but the 1oth and 11th fell on a weekend.  I don’t post on weekends, so this automatically disqualified me.  But here I am, back in the ol’ Ten on Ten saddle again.

Screen shot 2011-02-10 at 3_41_38 PM

Here are the Ten on Ten instructions:

Take a photo every hour for ten consecutive hours on the tenth of each month. Document a day of your life and find beauty among the ordinary moments. Then share your beauty with us! (on the 11th)

I give you, yesterday’s Ten on Ten:

Or we could call it Twenty Four on Ten, since I took too many!  🙂

Good Morning!

033

My sweet school girl:

035

Time for play:

038

Check out these cool glasses that turn lights into snow flakes! (Yes, the kids still have their Mini-trees up, I am waiting for Dale to bring home giant trash bags before we haul them out to store.)

Through Ty's eyes

Onrey boy! 043Today alone he broke on of my favorite decorations on my buffet when he CRAWLED UP ON IT! Then, while I was still getting over that, he set a candle on top of my brand new Fireplace insert….Wax EVERYWHERE!  Then he stuck a green marker down the humidifier hole as well as a golf club handle.  {No photos of this, too busy PULLING MY HAIR OUT!}

This kid cannot be left alone for ONE SECOND!  Time to do an activity for all the kids.

Coloring sounds safe….

10 on 10: 2nd Attempt

Today is my 2nd Attempt at a 10 on 10 Post.  (Attempt #1 is here.)

“This 10 on 10 Project has grown to be a fun and interactive way for blogger’s from all around the globe to document a snap shot of their lives, once a month on the tenth, taking a photo an hour for ten consecutive hours. Finding much life and beauty amongst the ordinary things of our day!”

Well, since I already failed miserably (again) at taking 10 consecutive hours worth of photos, I’ll shoot a bit lower:

Today’s goal is to do it wordless and with 10 photos only.

{Snort} Yeah right!!!!  🙂

Here we go:

Good Morning, Buddy! (Welp, there goes wordless!)

004

Sneaky Pax! The SECOND I open the fridge, he rushes over to explore and there he sits, blocking the door from closing until I can empty the food from my arms and remove him.

010

Off to Bible School, bright and early: 8:15 am so I can get my room set up.

011

One of my 3 Pre-K classes. They are SO sweet!

031

Here is where Pax hung out all week. He did so good!

Hi mom!

029

Avery joined us today!

She was in the nursery most of the week since she is still 2.

Happy 10 on 10 Blog Day!

Should I say sorry that I, once again, couldn’t manage to keep it 10 photos and under and wordless?

Naaaaah.

~T Smile

Ten on Ten: 1st attempt

The Ten on Ten project:

“This project has grown to be a fun and interactive way for blogger’s from all around the globe to document a snap shot of their lives, once a month on the tenth, taking a photo an hour for ten consecutive hours. Finding much life and beauty amongst the ordinary things of our day!”

My highschool friend and fellow blogger, Sarah told me about this a few months ago, and she is going to try it as well.  Her friend, Keely participates: http://keelysteger.blogspot.com/2011/03/ten-on-ten.html I was interested, but just kept forgetting to do it or it fell wrong on the calendar.  FINALLY, here we are on the 10th and I am giving it a go.

I have my camera in my hand A LOT, but 10 straight hours?

Way harder than I thought.  I did awful! I kept getting busy and realizing a couple of hours had passed me by unaccounted for.

Oh well, can’t say I didn’t try!  On we go with ten-on-ten…..

First pic: morning chores. Making beds, doing dishwasher etc….as you can see I got one photo of this before I had to set the camera down and run from kid to kid; dressing, changing, sheet tucking, hiney wiping, helping with the dishwasher, you know, the usual! 😛

036

Next up: Brushing teeth while trashing the formerly clean mirrors, getting dressed…..

017

Oh, and keeping Paxton from playing in the bathroom.

013

Chores are done, now it’s play time!

010009

And time to keep Paxton out of the bathroom…….over and over and over again.

{What is it about that toilet that seems so fun to him? Gross!}

014015016

034

Ty thinks it’s hysterical that Pax clacks his sticks together while playing the drums like a real drummer.029

Already Lunch time (too busy to take a photo) then nap time!  We were down by 12:30 today on the dot…..

Aahhh, peace and quiet!

005006

Time for this momma to get some stuff done!  Coupon clipping and supper prep are first on the To Do list, followed by bread making.  Fingers crossed it turns out, I have no buns for tonights Hawaiian BBQ Pulled Chicken Sandwiches otherwise!!!!!

001002037041

{sigh}  Look at my lonely lawn chair out there.  I desperately want to head out and soak up some Vitamin D……Hurry hurry hurry!

024

I ALMOST get everything done in time to go sit out front, but just then, who do I hear?

004

Paxton calling.  “Dadadad bababab mommomomom pfffffft.”

Nap time goes by SO quickly!

I go ahead and wake Tylan while I’m in there, so he’ll for sure sleep tonight. He was NOT pleased.

019020

Avery was still sleeping when it was time to go get Destiny from school.  The good news? Daddy was just done fishing and was headed home, he’d swing by and get her for me.

Poor poor sun-burned daddy.  Can you tell he was wearing waders?

039

Snack time, then homework and play!  We miss big sis when she’s at school!

040025

I think Mr. Monkey Butt deserves a photo or 2….

008011

Before I know it, it’s supper time!

{By the way, I made my best rolls EVER today.  SUPER EXCITING! Yeast and I have a love-hate relationship, but tonight?  The perfect fluffy huge rolls I wanted for our sandwiches. YAY! 🙂 Wonder if it had something to do with that fact that it was over 100* today and we are trying not to turn on the AC until J-U-N-E, so my house was the perfect temperature for good bread rising!!!!!!}

052058

Clean up supper dishes, oops, forgot the camera again.  Everyone hurried, Daddy has a surprise for the kids after they got their jammies on…..

Fire Crackers!

The String pop kind.  The kids were nervous but excited!

042043

044045

046047

Bed time prayers and a song in the girl’s room…..then lights out for everyone.

065

Sweet dreams, my lovies!

066

Goodnight my sweet baby!  I adore how heavy and limp they go when they’ve hit the “full button”.

Tomorrow morning?  Repeat all.

Sometimes I feel like my life is straight from the movie “Groundhog Day”!  Good thing I love what I do so much, because we basically do the same tasks each day over and over and over again!!  🙂

So, what’s my goal for next Ten-on-Ten Day?

10 photos, 10 hours in a row, no words.  I’ll get this figured out sooner or later!

Happy Ten-on-Ten Blog Day!

~T
