Happy Birthday, Avery!

We have a lot of summer birthdays here at the Ferguson house.  Destiny is July 17, Avery & I share August 1 and Paxton is August 17th.  Being home this year, in the summer, Avery begged for a sleepover with her new camp friends for her special day.

On the blog today, Happy Birthday, Avery!

Come on over and read alllll about it!

Hugs, T

First Day of School Photos

Fall is here, hear the yell, back to school, ring the bell,
Brand new shoes, walking blues, climb the fence,
Books & pens…I can tell that we are gonna be friends.

Love that song!  I will tell you more later, about WHY it is stuck in my head at the moment.  Pretty exciting stuff!

So, school is back in full swing at our house.  For the first time in 6 years, our family is attending somewhere other than Central Christian.  Our family goes back 30 plus years at that school, but the Lord called us to a different school this year.  I will share more about that tomorrow, but for now, here are our first day of school photos!

Summer Kiddos Photo Shoots

My photo biz is in full swing, and over the years, I have actually had to start booking a slot for my own kiddos, or it just wasn’t happening!  Kinda like the builders wife never gets her home building … Continue reading

Back To School 2013

Yesterday was our first day of school!  Waaah! How is summer OVER already!?!?!

I missed the Bigs terribly, but the Littles and I did enjoy our one on one time together!!!!

Avery is a new 5, so her teachers felt it was important for her to wait one more year.  They also explained the benefits of siblings not following each other back to back in school.   Made sense!

So, rather than do preschool another year, I am homeschooling her.  My little over achiever wanted TWO lessons today, so who was I to say no?  This is the curriculum I am using, so far I love it! Colorful and fun activities!!!!!!  Praise the Lord, it came through Zulilly last week for $14, so I snatched it up!  If you aren’t part of Zulily yet, you are missing out.

In addition to this curriculum, I have gotten shoes for Tylan for $8, you will see them in his photo below.  Rather than buying one pair for $30, I was able to get him THREE pairs of shoes for less than that last year!!!!!! How fun to have different shoes to go with his different colored uniforms.

I have also gotten some neat, hands on Christmas gifts tucked away, and talk about great photo props! I am in HEAVEN!

If you sign up so that you can receive their emails full of discount boutique items, I would be so blessed if you would use my referral link!  http://www.zulily.com/invite/tferguson790

Thank you! 🙂

Avery will be ready for Kindergarten next year! She is such a good little student, blessed to have her home one more year.  There would’ve been some serious boo-hooing yesterday morning if I only had one left at home!!!!

And although he was not dressed for the occasion AT ALL, Mr. Pax INSISTED he get a photo shoot too!  Ok buddy, you are pretty darn cute in your jammies, pull up, crocs and the ever important noise reducing ear plugs.

  Sweet Peanut,

I love your special “Avery Accent” that makes you say things like “Birfday POW-ty” instead of Birthday Party, or “Bow-bies” instead of Barbies.

Avery 1

I love that you are Sunshine or Storm clouds, and nothing in between, and have been that way since birth!

Life is hard, you will find that out soon enough.

For now, you just keep dancing like no one is watching, and enjoy every moment to the fullest.

Weekend Fun: Parties, Graduates & Hair Loss Edition

May is just the craziest time of year, isn’t it?!

Seems like a very popular month for Baby Showers, Bridal Showers, Family photo shoots, and lets not forget all the end of the year school stuff and Graduations!  Not only did we go to multiple graduation parties this weekend, but we hit a darling Woodland themed Baby Shower as well.

These girls went ALL out!  I, of course, came straight from church/lunch without my camera, but here are a few shots with someone elses……

Check out the cream cheese almond hedge hog, and those red things are mushrooms. Well, they are mozzarella cheese sticks with half a tomato on top. The dots are ranch dip! SOOO Cute and soo yummy!

Baby Shower Collage 2baby shower Collage

They had a Onesie Decorating Table! Everyone had so much fun making flowers and trees, tractors and hearts out of iron on fabric that someone was going to iron for us later.  There were some fabric markers available, too.  I don’t have photos of my kids creations, but they did a great job!  Ty did a grass, tree and sunshine scene, Destiny did a woodland theme with a mushrooms, 2 owls and a hedge hog. Hers had a big heart on the back, right where Emerson’s little buns will go.  Cute!  Avery did a big yellow cloth sun that said you are my sunshine around its perimeter, with Love Avery on the sleeve.  Paxton just ran around! 😉

Check out my “4 little Fergusons love Em” onesie. Baby’s name is Emerson, Emmy for short, but Em is going to have to count on this onesie. I couldn’t fit more letters on! haha

Ty graduates from Kindergarten tonight.  WHAT!?  How is that even possible?
Such a sweet baby….

First day of 3-school

It makes me want to cry to think of him at school all day next year.

All this stress is making me lose my hair……

Ok, not really. I made me lose my hair, like 8 inches of it!  I have had looong hair for a lot of my life, like back in High School Days and my early marriage years.

This is when Destiny was 3 and I was in my early 20’s, long curly hair, almost to my waist.

Scan_Pic0011

But the more kids I had, the shorter it got…..

I cut off a foot and a half of hair when Ty was born, and kept it a bob for Avery, who came 17 months later:

I grew it out again until Paxton.  Hello, 10 pound Baby in AUGUST!  Goodbye, hair!

9 months PG with Paxton

I always like long hair best, and promptly grew it out again.  I found a shoulder length style I LOOOOVED, and have been trying to get my hair to do this look again for 2 years:

Dale and Tonya-1

Not happening.

It’s like my curls changed shape?!  Crazy.  So, I just wore a ponytail or braid, EVERY SINGLE DAY.  Blow drying and flat ironing it takes 35 minutes. Yeah, not in the Mommyhood Morning schedule!

So rather than kick the dead horse any longer, I decided to call it what it is and whack it off. With some major thanks to my BFF for her moral support, and my amazing hair dresser, who always works her magic on this massive mane of mine!

collage 4collage 5

Ack! Here it is, new hair!

Hair Collage 3hair collage 5

I am still getting used to it, but I love it. I feel like I’ve lost 10 pounds!  I have never had it this short in the back, and it feels GREAT!

Collage 2

I keep reaching up to fix a ponytail that is no longer there.  Any bets on how long this will last until I grow it back out?  I am giving it 8 months based on my previously mentioned hair cut history.  We have a strict 4 and no more child policy at this house, so it sure won’t need to be kept short due to pregnancy anymore! haha Smile

Hope you had a great weekend!  I have some fun and delicious posts planned for you all this week.   🙂

First Day of School 2012

This is post 2 for today, head back 1 post to drool over an Applebee’s Copy Cat salad!

I have thought and thought, and I still can’t figure out how summer is over already?!  I want my babies home with me ALLLLL the time.

But alas, another school year has begun, as of August 22nd for the big kids and September 5th for my lil’ Peanut, Avery.  Guess that means 3 days a week, it’s just me and Paxton.  Wow.

{crickets chirping}

  The silence is deafening!

Better late than never, here are our first day of school pics for 2012:

September 5th,  Avery’s turn!  She complained of a tummy ache, but soon got over her butterflies. Especially when she saw what outfit I had laid out.  🙂
